The magazine notes that with Boston looking like a ghost town - thanks to the pandemic - perhaps it would be a good time to visit a real one.

The list of the top five abandoned places to go include locations in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut as well.

To find the prison camp head go to 49 Whitehall Road in the middle of the 300-acre Rutalnd state park. Within the park are ruins from a prison camp built-in 1903 nd abandoned in 1934. Among the highlight to be seen: stairway to nowhere and the remains of a tuberculosis hospital. Keep an eye out for solitary confinement cells.
